UMTA club member Ben Winterer clinched 1st place for the 2007 season in the NATC Sportman Class yesterday in New Mexico. Click photos to enlarge. (Photo on right from album of 2007 NATC Round 7, Donner Ski Ranch, cropped from a photo taken by Vince at V-Mar Racing; used with permission.)
Ben’s two first-place and two second-place finishes during the season gave him the edge over 2nd place rival Kyle Wedgeworth in season points, 140 to 128.
He’s the 3rd member of the UMTA to claim an NATC championship. Andy Bowman and David Hofstrand both won High School titles.

At the UMTA’s annual Haggis Basher at Spirit Mountain in Duluth earlier this month, $775 was raised for the Pat Smage Trials World Fund. The rider donation (gate fee) was $480 and private donations totalled $295.
