The final UMTA board meeting of 2003 will be held before the LAST EVENT OF THE SEASON on Sunday October 26th at Storm’s Ranch. The meeting will start at 10:00 am and is open to ANY & ALL CLUB MEMBERS .

Agenda items are as follows:

-Presentation of the newly updated UMTA Club Handbook.

-Selection of 2004 event dates and maximum number of events counted toward season championship point totals.

-Selection of date for the 2003 club banquet.

-UMTA 35th Anniversary celebration (2004 season).

-Open discussion.

If you want to have a say in how your club is run you need to be at the meeting!

As you review the latest standings for season championship points in your riding class you may notice a change. There has been a clarification in the procedure for awarding “extra” points to club members who perform the duties of Trials Master, Mentor & Helper. We had been recording “extra” points awards each time a rider performed each of the tasks, as a result, several riders (including me) had point totals above what should have been awarded. The total allowable extra points available, as stated in the UMTA Handbook, is 20 points for the season. I don’t believe this correction will alter the standings in the upper ranks of any class but I am certain individual point totals will change.

The last event of the season is at Storm’s Ranch this coming Sunday.

Randy Kimmick is the trialsmaster. Helpers are Rich Hansen and Marc Dittman. A mentor is still needed.

We return to regular Standard Time on Sunday. Make sure your headlamps are working, as it’ll be dark in those gullies by 4 pm or so.

There’s a vintage trial this Saturday at the Faribault grounds, and a club trial on Sunday.

Gregg Mellberg is the trialsmaster; scheduled helpers are Jim Blount Jr., Ben Winterer, and Steve Ahlers. Brad Villand, who just added two bikes to the Used Bikes page, is the mentor for Sunday.
