35th anniversary weekend photos

Two new albums are up in the UMTA photo gallery:

- Photos of the Saturday night anniversary festivities and finsher podiums both days

- 86 rider photos from Sunday, courtesy of a visitor, Pat Carver from Bloomington.

Day 1 first place Champ, Al Gohlike, cleaning the wall exit on Section 1. Al and his Team Mad Max (Willy Gruette, Gregg Mellberg, and Ben Winterer — Section 12 observers at the World Round) donated their $1,000 observer stipend to the UMTA, which funded the pig roast, T-shirts and other miscellaneous expenses for the weekend. Al was also honored for being the longest active club member. He started riding in 1970, the year after the club began.

Faribault Club Grounds, riders’ meeting, spring 1975

The UMTA clubhouse, spring 1975, a city bus. According to Ed Hampe:

That’s Ron Hampe his ownself with the bullhorn. I recognize that shiny silver jacket! I am sitting on my TL125 in the foreground with the white Bell hat. Isn’t that Mark Stonich walking towards the camera with his head down?

(See a larger version of the photo.)
