Is this thing working? (my first post)

Just a quick note from the new(er) webmaster – many, many thanks to Griff who has done a great job with the website and many other things, his creation is a well oiled machine, that will hopefully leave more time for riding.

He has also made the change-over quite easy thanks to his WordPress for Noobs course at Your Thick Skull. Yes, I’m sucking up to the teacher in hopes that I get a good mark.

If anyone has any ideas for the website or things they would like to see included, please let me know…… Here.

Follow the UMTA on Twitter

umta-twitter-sshot The Upper Midwest Trials Association is now on Twitter. Follow us to keep track of our UMTA blog and other trials-related news items.

And if you follow us, we’ll likely follow you if you tweet regularly about trials.  And if we see something you tweet that we like, we’ll retweet it to our followers.

We’ve starting using the hashtag #motorcycletrials for most of our tweets so consider doing likewise whenever you tweet about trials.

Revised UMTA handbook for 2008

Here’s the revised UMTA Handbook, 2008 edition (PDF). (The changes from 2005 are in italics throughout.)

It’s also available on the Handbook page.

And when you pay your annual membership dues for the season, you receive a printed Handbook. Changes there are color-coded.

New photo gallery

I’ve created a new UMTA photo gallery for 2007 photos using Google’s Picasaweb. It has many advantages over our old gallery (2004-2006 photos), including the ability to embed slideshows into a blog post.

If you’re a UMTA member and want to be able to upload photos to the club gallery, let me know.

Import complete

I’ve imported all the old posts from Blogger dating back to 2002. Whew!

Most of the images embedded in those posts seem to work. Of course, links to the old pages on our website no longer work.

More to come…

Website/weblog overhaul

I’m going to start working on an overhaul of the UMTA site today. I’m going install WordPress.

So for a while, you won’t be able to find stuff. And don’t be alarmed by the boring look. We’ll spiff it after we get it running.
